The organizing members of the BRHC work to shape public policies and private investments so they are aligned to overcome historic divisions of race and class and provide access to high opportunity communities.
The advocacy work of the BRHC focuses on three main areas:
- Inclusive smart growth, zoning and land use policies that increase housing choice for low-income families and bring true diversity to the communities throughout our region.
- Increased opportunities for affordable housing opportunities in high-opportunity communities through strategic investment and elimination of impediments to fair housing.
- Increased regional support for integrated, mixed income communities, and housing mobility programs so that low-income families have the option to move to high opportunity communities.
